WELCOME

Sarah and the Arrows are Sarah Napolitan (guitar), Stacy Weathers (banjo), Wendy Fuhr (strings) and Lee Vuotto (bass). The Arrows are an all-female group from Philadelphia, PA showcasing original songs ranging from folk to bluegrass, providing warm and engaging melodies with creative lyrics. The Arrows have played the Philadelphia Folk Festival, were featured on WXPN's The Folk Show, and have played The Extreme Folk Festival, the Mermaid Inn, Other Farm Brewery, Big Tree Art Studio, Dawson's Pub, and all over greater Philadelphia.

Opening for the nothing but spectacular GENE SMITH BAND, The Arrows are back at Dawson's! Come spend the night in the best neighborhood bar ever, complete with Christmas lights and great beers on tap. We'll have both new cover songs and new originals, as well as some sweet surprises and old favorites!

The GENE SMITH BAND is Gene Smith has been writing real songs about real life, some serious, some more whimsical. He has performed many of them with groups as varied as Boris Garcia, Psych-A-Billy, Sunhill Down, The Turnips, and Buddha’s Kitchen. Check them out at: https://www.genesmithband.com/

Sarah and the Arrows at Roxyunk Porchfest

RoxYunk Porchfest 2022 — a free day of local music hosted DIY-style on porches throughout Roxborough and Manayunk — is coming on October 15th!

Created by community residents, Porchfest will bring together neighbors and musicians of all kinds to build, deepen, and celebrate connections within our community and beyond. This event is for everyone and encourages a diversity of genres and people to share the joys of live music.

We'll be performing on a porch near you! Exact location and time TBD.

Philly Sings Philly is a celebration of the music community in Philadelphia. The show includes local and current Philadelphia bands and musicians covering local Philly music both old and new! Each month the proceeds go to a charity, which this month is the West Philadelphia Chapter of Food Not Bombs.

Dull Dime and WXPN welcome the 9th Annual 2021 Winter Doldrums concert for suicide prevention benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention presented by the Philadelphia Folksong Society. tickets: https://folkfest.org/9th-annual-winter-doldrums/ streamed on folkfest.org In 2013, Philadelphia local bassist and musician, Michele Lynn lost her son to suicide. Beginning in 2014 with the 2nd annual Winter Doldrums, Michele changed the focus of the event to benefit suicide prevention and awareness. In it’s ninth year, the Winter Doldrums is once again benefitting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In 2016, With the goal of bringing light to suicide awareness and prevention, Michele teamed up with 17 of her musician friends to co-write songs based on her works. Michele’s poems became the songs’ lyrics, with her friends providing voice and melody. Together with producer Ross Bellenoit, Michele and her friends created an album called “Vilomahed.” Despite the album’s diverse musical lineup, Michele and her collaborators have created a cohesive work that provides a beautiful glimpse into the pain and healing experienced by survivors of suicide, that is at times both heartbreaking and hopeful.
